And root beer. And trombones. Actually, the French invented trombones, only they call them paper clips (and that's actually true, sort of).

The French invented the white flag of surrender. Beyond that ... and crepes ... I didn't think they were responsible for much else, let alone the trombone. Did they tie a white hankie to the end of the slidy part?
