Hammurabi, king of Babylonia (1792-1750 BC), likely had poor eyesight. He is depicted in ancient murals wearing a primitive version of a monocle.

You're kidding, right? Are you actually suggesting that a king who died over 37 centuries ago actually had access to ANY kind of corrective lense, let alone a monocle? I don't think so, Factropolis.
