  • I think pearl divers might swing this 'fact' in that direction - people shoving half their body into a giant clam in search of a pearl...hmmmm, yeah, one or two might clamp down and give someone a boo boo!

  • Come on, people. A little internet research debunks this. Where is your source material? National Geographic says that giant clams' muscles move much too slowly to take divers by surprise.

    If this is true, what gives?
