  • My girlfriend used to work at the Alamo, and she once gave me a behind the scenes tour. She showed some of the cut marks on the stones that were caused by the harnesses used to transport the blocks. They also have some cool wooden pulleys and other equipment - artifacts used to haul the stones. And they showed us some aerial photos of where they think the quarry was in San Jaun Bautista - a Wal-Mart is built on the site today. Anyway, if you ever get a chance to take the tour, I highly recommend it.
